For close to a half a century I have loved horses. For my younger years it was afar. I would pet every horse I could find and spent countless hours working at various barns to pay for riding lessons. At 13 years old I was finally able to have my dream come true when my dad bought me my very own horse. From that time horses have always been in my life. I have participated in many different disciplines starting with hunter jumpers as a youngster and later in 4H where I caught the "Horse Show Bug" a "disease" with no cure. LOL
I started learning to ride and train all-around horses, including western pleasure, hunter equitation, showmanship, barrels, poles and various other events. Later I competed in endurance racing, and learned some dressage and cross country.
When I was in college I was introduced to Miniature horses and was hooked. I learned the art of driving and I spent over 20 years breeding, raising, showing, training, coaching, judging and enjoying the world of Miniature horses.
In 2019 we lost the greatest miniature horse we have ever known, Happylands Topper. We had loved and enjoyed him for 24 years and it was a devastating loss to the whole family.
There will never be another horse as great as Topper and we knew we could never replace him. So I then turned to another dream of mine, to own Missouri Fox Trotters. It started with one and of course it grew from there.
Fox Trotters have a wonderful smooth gait, are very sure footed, and have great mellow dispositions. Our family enjoys trail riding on our Fox Trotters in the beautiful Ozark mountains and we have expanded that love to include camping with our horses.
We currently do not show or breed Missouri Fox Trotters but occasionally we have experienced trail horses for sale.
She is quirky and odd but is chosen for every ride.
Everyone says she is the most beautiful horse
Got her name because our daughter who is a percussionist taught her to paw on barrels like a drum.
Kid and friends favorite. Very smooth and easy to get along with. Currently Cajun is the herd boss.
Very best friend of our oldest daughter, Snickers is willing and kind and is a great lead horse. She is mostly retired and spends her time looking for the best grass in the pasture.
